Leanne Battersby rejected Nick Tilsley in Coronation Street after finding out her true feelings about Oliver
Friday’s episode (November 6) included heart-wrenching scenes after Simon (Alex Bain) played Wendy’s voice recorder in hopes of hearing interviews she conducted on Oliver’s audition
Steve enthusiastically performed Wendy’s interview with Gail Platt (Helen Worth) at Leanne (Jane Danson), and they were both stunned to hear him say that Nick was standing next to Leanne even though she was he thought it was better to let Oliver go
With Gail returning as Leanne and Steve dealt with the bombshell, Leanne lashed out at both of them for refusing to believe that there was still hope for Oliver
« You told me you had a child, I looked beyond that », she insisted « You tried to hide Natasha’s offer of help. I got you forgiven But that? No There is no going back for that «
Leanne burst into tears as Nick tried to explain why « the right thing to do for Oliver » was to let him go, later arguing that nothing more could be done to prevent the boy from dying.
« You are not Oliver’s father, Nick You are nothing to him because you are nothing to me anymore, » Leanne retorted « We don’t need you »
Meanwhile, Gail grabbed the dictaphone and placed it exactly where Simon had found it, so as not to cause more trouble for the family.
This moving story will continue with a very special episode next Friday (November 13) which will focus solely on Leanne and Steve’s legal battle over Oliver’s treatment
