World News – UK – Hollyoaks stars as Denise Welch as Maxine Minniver’s mother, Trish

Hollyoaks has announced that Denise Welch will join the cast of the soap as the mom of Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson), Trish Minniver

Dance teacher Trish will arrive in the village under the ominous shadow of her boyfriend Brad, who will bring an immediate glow to Maxine – which could drive a big wedge between mother and daughter

Trish, who is also the mom of the late character Mitzeee Minniver (Rachel Shenton), already made a few brief appearances on the soap opera between 2010 and 2012, played by actress Paula Wolfenden, but this will be the character’s first long stay.

Her sudden arrival is bound to be a shock to Maxine, who has faced a lot of trauma over the past few years without having her family by her side – but will she be happy to see her mother, or Trish to talk to her? even more problems?

Denise broke the news live on Loose Women, of which she is a regular panelist, saying she is « really horny »

Revealing that she is going to be on the soap « for a whole year », she said she can’t wait to start filming and added: « I will always be able to do Loose Women – they were very nice to me about this I am very excited because I missed my game and I feel very honored «

Denise and Nikki have a soap opera history together as they both previously worked on Coronation Street, where they played Rovers Return owner Natalie Barnes and hairstylist Candice Stowe respectively.

Denise’s new role will also see her working alongside her former Waterloo Road co-star Chelsee Healey, who plays Goldie McQueen, and her Loose Women co-star Kéllé Bryan, who plays Martine Deveraux

Kéllé, who was the only person to know about Denise’s new role prior to the announcement, shared a congratulatory message to Loose Women, saying, « Double trouble! I can’t wait to see you messing around at Hollyoaks « 

Hollyoaks is currently airing new episodes Monday through Thursday at 6.30 a.m. on Channel 4, with first screenings at 7 p.m. on E4
