The adult superhero animated series revolves around a teenager whose father is the most powerful superhero on the planet
Mahershala Ali, Jon Hamm, Djimon Hounsou and Ezra Miller have been included in the star cast of the adult animation series « Invincible » from Amazon Prime Video, the OTT platform announced on Sunday.
Based on the Skybound / Image comic of the same name by Cory Walker, Ryan Ottle and Robert Kirkman, the inventors of « The Walking Dead », the one-hour cartoon series with eight episodes follows a 17-year-old who says « Just like every other man at his age – only that his father is the most powerful superhero in the world, Omni-Man (J.. . K. . Simmons). But as Mark develops his own powers, he discovers that his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems, ”says Amazon in his official description.
Clancy Brown, Nicole Byer, Jeffrey Donovan, and Jonathan Groff are also part of the cast. Stars already announced include Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, Walton Goggins, Mantzoukas, Mae Whitman, Chris Diamantopoulos, Melise, Kevin Michael Richardson, Gray Griffin and Max Burkholder.
« Invincible » is produced by Skybound and is executive of Kirkman, Simon Racioppa, David Alpert and Catherine Winder under the direction of Justin Allen and Chris Copeland.
The series will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories in 2021.
