JOHN Barrowman stunned fans this morning when he returned to his natural Scottish accent while in Lorraine.

The 51-year-old actor is better known with an American accent, having moved to Stateside as a kid.

But he talks to his family and other Scots in his natural environment – even if he was a guest on Lorraine’s show.

And it was fitting that at St.. Andrew’s Day, which is also the popular television presenter’s birthday, returned to its Scottish roots.

Barrowman, best known for his role as Captain Jack Harkness in Torchwood and Doctor Who, sang Lorraine Happy Birthday and described her as « a beautiful piece of oomph ». .
