Welsh head coach Wayne Pivac made nine changes to the starting line-up for the final game of the Autumn Nations Cup against Italy in Llanelli on Saturday.
Flanker Justin Tipuric, who missed the defeat against England last weekend with 24-13 due to a head blow, returns to the back row alongside James Botham and Taulupe Faletau.
Other counters are an off-center start for George North, with Bristol’s Callum Sheedy and Scarlet’s number nine Kieran Hardy citing as center-backs.
Wing North’s last start in Wales in jersey number 13 was against Italy in February when he helped his team to a 42-0 win.
Pivac has selected a new front row from Nicky Smith, Sam Parry – who is making his first test start – and Tomas Francis, with Lock Will Rowlands replacing Jake Ball.
Botham retains his seat and switches from the open side to the blindside flanker to accommodate Tipuric’s return. In another change, Liam Williams returns full-backed instead of Leigh Halfpenny.
Pivac said: “Saturday is another opportunity for these players and for us as a squad it is another opportunity to continue building and see the results of all the hard work in training.
“We played eight new internationals in this campaign, and most importantly, each of them would have made a number of appearances at the end of the game.
“From the beginning we wanted this campaign to be an opportunity for players, and we did.
« The hard work in training is coming through and we want to show that again on Saturday and end the campaign at a climax with the performance and result that we want. ”
Wales have only won two of their nine Tests since Pivac succeeded Warren Gatland last year, beating Italy and Georgia.
