World news – UK – Nigella Lawson says banana peel curry recipe is ‘a perfect metaphor for 2020’

Nigella Lawson is back on the screens with her new BBC Two series, Cook, Eat and Repeat on BBC, showing fans how to create an unusual recipe that uses banana peels

Nigella Lawson baffled fans after sharing a recipe for banana and cauliflower skin with one person saying, « 2020 just got a little crazy!.

The 60-year-old chef is back on our screens with her new series Nigella’s Cook, Eat, Repeat, on BBC Two, showcasing innovative recipes including lamb chops, fish finger burrata and noodles, as well as sharing her favorite superstar kitchen.

But it was the last recipe, banana peel and cauliflower really surprised viewers.

Nigella explains her inspiration for the plate, saying, “I can’t bear to throw anything away. And when I found out you could eat banana peel, I just couldn’t get into the kitchen fast enough. It is a revelation.

“And for those of you who are hesitant about the idea, I assure you that you would never have guessed that my banana peel contained a banana peel.. You wouldn’t even think of bananas.

“I would love for this dish to be made from something that would normally be trashed, although that wouldn’t be enough to justify being in the program. It exists because it is just such a wonderful thing to eat.

She asked viewers not to waste the discarded banana peel and instead chop it up and add it to the turmeric and cinnamon curry sauce to add texture and flavor.

But for the skeptical foodie, she has an alternative ingredient to try, saying, “If trying banana peel and cauliflower curry is a step too far for you, you can of course use the base for any vegetables – or, indeed, meat or seafood!” p>

The recipe baffled viewers when someone took to social media to say, “Many things have made me go to WTF in 2020, but nothing comes close to pouring Nigella water in a kettle over brown banana skins..

While someone said: “I feel like Nigella_Lawson made something delicious out of old banana peels is the perfect metaphor for the goodies that came out in the final weeks of the absolutely horrible year 2020.

Nigella also referenced the recipe on Twitter, writing, «  I hope I haven’t given you too much bump with banana skins (I promise curry is divine)).
