Sheffield Wednesday RECAP: What Tony Pulis said after Owls’ Callum Paterson was grabbed by Preston’s Darnell Fisher

The Millers were injured when they lost 1-0 in Swansea. Richard Wood, Freddie Ladapo and Joe Mattock were not fit.

They joined long-term injury victims Chiedozie Ogbene, Shaun MacDonald, Clark Robertson and Kieran Sadlier on the sidelines.

All three returned to training on Monday, however, and should be on the bus to London.

« We could have had Mattock back in Swansea, but we’re playing a quarter of the season in five weeks, so I don’t want to take any unnecessary risks.

“Woodys Hammy had a bit of pain in training on Thursday, Freddie has a bit of hip problems and was sore on Friday, so you have a squad.

« You have to turn it around. It’s unfortunate that we had seven great players, which doesn’t detract from my disappointment at Swansea.

The Chelsea borrower, recovering from an ankle injury, was responsible for the decisive goal and cost his team almost a second after a rushed game.

But Warne supports his first choice stopper, which he re-elected in Swansea before Viktor Johansson.

« It was a very difficult decision to choose, » said Warne. “I had a conversation with both keepers. Jamal barely set a foot wrong apart from the Luton game when his kick was all over the store.

« He’s my number one and I’ve made a mistake in the past few seasons where I swapped goalkeepers all the time and nobody got a fair bang.

« Viktor is a great goalkeeper and I said to him, » If you were playing 10 games on the spin like he did and someone played for a game when you were missing, you would expect your jersey again  » and he said yes.

« I think so. Jamal is here to be our number one. Viktor pushes him all the time. If he has a bad game, Viktor has his chance. ”
