After the 1-0 loss to Reading on Saturday, Rangers boss Mark Warburton alluded to the fact that his team is in bad shape and that things just don’t go that way and that he’s not wrong. They really struggle in front of the gate and their youngest slide just five points away from the bottom three.

You have to feel for Stoke, however. The constantly improving Tyrese Campbell had scored or assisted 13 goals in the early months of the season but a serious knee injury against Cardiff last Tuesday should rule him out for the remainder of the season. I think they will only just go around this one.

On either side of their stalemate with Swansea last week, Bournemouth Barnsley and Huddersfield have drawn lessons from recklessness and shown the deadly attack with nine goals in both games.

I think Wycombe could suffer the same fate on Tuesday. They’re often just on the wrong side of fine margins but rarely scoring more than one goal per game, which could be a problem considering Bournemouth kept three goals on their toes.

As champions of perfection, Vladimir Ivic is no doubt hoping his Watford side will perform significantly better after slipping past Birmingham thanks to Troy Deeney’s late penalty. However, they are moving in the right direction without being spectacular every week.

Brentford is now unbeaten eleven times. The Bees certainly didn’t win as many games as they hoped, but given the hectic schedule, it’s pretty good. They have the second best away record in the division while Watford has the best home record so I cannot share them.

There are five games that Rams interim boss Wayne Rooney has currently undefeated, with no indication of when or whether he could be replaced by a permanent successor. He’s got seven points from five games and it doesn’t look like it will be too long for them to get out of the bottom three.

I’m not sure if it will be Wednesday though. Swansea looked good as they won a comfortable win over Cardiff in the South Wales derby, keeping up with early favorites Norwich and Bournemouth. Win away.

Keep an eye on Coventry. Mark Robins’ side found it difficult to score points in the first two months of the season, but something has clicked since the international break in November. They haven’t lost in more than a month and have only scored four goals in their last seven games.

Huddersfield may have been the second favorite against Bournemouth but they certainly did not expect to score five goals like they did at Vitality Stadium. I think they might feel a little hurt so I’ll be supporting the Sky Blues here.

Well this is a match-up! The early front runners, eager to run away with the title at some point, faced the team that is currently at the top of the pile. Reading gives a lot of momentum after that slip in November and has only lost one of its last five games.

It is a sign of a good team that Norwich deals with whatever comes their way. They came from behind to beat Sheffield Wednesday and have since scored the second-half winners after being held back against Forest and Blackburn. I think Reading will take up the issues here, however.
