Charlie Stayt, the BBC breakfast host, spoke to himself for over 20 seconds, thinking Labor MP Jonathan Ashworth was listening during a video call. Mr.. Ashworth’s video call stopped working, his face frozen on the screen. Mr Stayt continued his questioning on the coronavirus, thinking the Labor MP was there before realizing his mistake.

Mr. Stayt confessed that he believed that Mr. Ashworth was listening intently from his lack of movement and reaction.

Ms. Munchetty introduced Ms. Ashworth and noted that there was mounting tension within the Tory Party over the new coronavirus measures.

« As it stands, Jonathan Ashworth, will the Labor Party be able to vote for these measures? »

After an awkward pause, the BBC presenter realized the glitch and began discussing the situation with Ms. Munchetty while laughing.

Mr Stayt said, « I apologize, it was one of those zoom moments when I thought I was looking at an image that worked.

« So we’ve had one of those moments when this happened, and we’re just waiting to find out if anything has changed. «

« When you are on this side of the zoom call, you often do not find that the line has been broken.

When Mr Ashworth reconnected, the trio kept laughing at this and the Labor MP apologized before continuing with the interview.
