World News – UK – ‘Vital’ Herefordshire follows new coronavirus restrictions

IT is vital in Herefordshire. The new coronavirus restrictions, which come into effect next week, will be met, the county’s public health director warned.

Karen Wright, director of public health, said everyone in Herefordshire must follow the new rules for Tier 2 areas.

From Wednesday the 2nd. December, the lockdown restrictions in England are replaced by a three-tier system, with Herefordshire in the middle band.

There are 3 levels of local restrictions. These are level 1: medium warning, level 2: high warning and level 3: very high warning

Herefordshire has been given Tier 2: High Alert as the council said the county has been identified as an area with higher or rapidly rising levels of infection.

Karen Wright, Director of Public Health at Herefordshire, said, “I would like to thank our residents and businesses for continuing to follow national guidelines so we can limit the transmission of viruses in our communities.

« Once we get out of lockdown, it is important that we continue to follow the Tier 2 high alert guidelines for Herefordshire.

“Every social interaction gives the virus the chance to spread. We must continue to wash our hands, wear face covering indoors, limit the number of people we meet outside of our household, and support the bladder.
