AmaWaterways today announced the return of several popular winemakers as well as some new surprises for the 2021 season. With more than 60 festivities for wine river cruises through Europe, AmaWaterways will host renowned wine experts, certified sommeliers and vineyard owners on board and connect guests with lectures and tastings to complement the extensive range of shore excursions.
As an additional highlight, two brand new routes will present the Epicurean traditions and historical sights of Normandy and will take guests for the first time to the famous vineyards of the Burgundian region of the country.

Each Wine River Cruise celebration features enhanced Epicurean experiences and is hosted by a qualified wine professional from North America or a specific destination. The hosts bring hand-picked wines on board to serve during a special meal, tasting, or seminar, all of which are included in the price of the cruise. Some wines come from the expert’s own winery, others from wineries located along the river cruise.
The Essence of Burgundy & Provence itinerary marks the first entrance of AmaWaterways into the Burgundy region of France and showcases traditional French wines and cuisine in a delicious river cruise. Guests will discover the Roman history of Chalon-sur-Saône and enjoy the charming Tournus with its towering Romanesque abbey and historic pharmacy. This wine cruise will explore French castles from Burgundy to Provence and invite everyone on board to taste their way through the French culinary capital of Lyon.
With the new itinerary Impressions of the Seine & Paris, guests discover the most famous Parisian sites as well as gardens that were remembered by famous impressionist painters. When you sail from Paris to Le Havre (or vice versa) on board the AmaDante, immerse yourself in the best of northern France. The itinerary offers more free time to enjoy the quaint towns and winding bike paths along the Seine. Beyond the idyllic landscape at every turn, guests discover traditional culinary treasures such as chocolate, cheese, apple-based calvados and local cider from the region. Guests can enjoy an optional 4-night fully escorted Brittany land package and visit the historic port of St. . Malo and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mont St. . Michel.
