World News – United States – Ex-NJ Gov Chris Christie Remains Hospitalized With COVID-19

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie remains hospitalized at Morristown Medical Center, where he was admitted on Saturday after testing positive for COVID-19

The 58-year-old Mendham resident announced on Saturday morning he had tested positive for coronavirus, a day after President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump announced they had tested positive Since then, more than a dozen aides and officials in Trump’s circle have also tested positive

Christie, who has struggled with his weight and has a lifelong history of asthma, tweeted that he checked in to the hospital on Saturday, citing concerns he was at greater risk of developing complications from the virus

The former governor did not explain what symptoms he was exhibiting or how he was being treated He has not tweeted since Saturday night

Star-Ledger columnist Tom Moran spoke to Christie on the phone Monday The former governor said Jordan’s King Abdullah called to wish him good luck, annoying Moran, who had doubted their friendship in a 2012 chronicle Moran also wrote that Christie looked « hoarse but didn’t cough once » during their 10 minute phone call, and that Christie would not discuss her condition.

Christie said he was not at the fundraiser, which was attended by 206 people The state is already working to contact Trace attendees and 19 Trump National employees who worked on the event
