Tuesday’s large turnout was expected by Busby, who said 20 percent of registered Lafayette County voters participated in remote voting throughout October There have been 6,500 mail-in ballots this year , compared to 2,300 in the 2016 election
Lafayette County went to paper ballots this year and there have been some problems with scanners at first, but Busby said that they were all resolved quickly a machine enclosure District 1 located at the new post office on Fré ‘Buddy’ East Parkway South was not functioning properly, but Busby said they got the machine up and running and also added a third machine to help with the large turnout.
