World news – Updates and highlights: No. 1 Gonzaga leads LMU in the second half with 20

Follow us here as the Gonzaga Bulldogs # 1 (23-0, 14-0 WCC) wrap up the regular WCC season when they tonight the Loyola Marymount Lions (12-7, 7-4) align at the McCarthey Athletic Center in Spokane. You can watch it on ESPN.

9:11 – Gonzaga 67, LMU 46: The Zags rip off a 7-0 run and are now leading by 21.

Corey Kispert made his fifth game during the run , another 3-pointer. He has 19 points.

11:02 – Gonzaga 60, LMU 46: Jalen Suggs has up to 10 points and five assists and the Bulldogs are still leading in double digits.

Mattias Markusson has 16 points in the 7-of-7 shooting for the LMU. Eli Scott added 13 points.

15:02 – Gonzaga 52, LMU 40: The Bulldogs are in the lead 12 points behind Corey Kispert and Drew Timme, who each have 13 points.

Gonzaga 40, LMU 30 : Drew Timme has 11 points and the Bulldogs # 1 used two big runs to get a 10-point lead over the Lions at halftime.

With a 20:15 deficit in the middle of halftime, they left Zags led 13: 3 and took the lead with a 5 point lead. After LMU scored the next four points, Gonzaga took a 9-3 lead to close the half.

The Lions shoot 52.2%, but have flipped the ball 13 times. Gonzaga scored 17 points from these sales.

The Lions have bad problems inside. Striker Keli Leaupepe has three fouls and Markusson, the starting center, has two.

Gonzaga was 8 of 15 off the free-throw line in the half when LMU committed 12 fouls. The Lions went 4 of 7 off the line.

Gonzaga shot 58.3% off the field and was 4 of 7 from 3-point range. Kispert was 3 out of 4 out of 3.

16:14 – LMU 6, Gonzaga 5: The Lions lead behind four points from Eli Scott in the first media timeout.

11:54 – LMU 12, Gonzaga 10 : Mattias Markusson has six points and the Lions continue to lead the No. 1 Zags.

The LMU exceeds the Zags 7-1. The Lions have three offensive rebounds and four second chance points.

3:37 – Gonzaga 28, LMU 27: Bulldogs led by one after a 13-3 run revolved around a 5-point deficit.

The LMU has to struggle with bad problems inside. Striker Keli Leaupepe has three fouls and Mattias Markusson has two fouls.
