World News – US Chiefs defeat Broncos, 22-16, on Sunday night football

The Chiefs barely survived the Broncos on Sunday night

. .

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Denver Broncos 10:16 on Sunday night at Arrowhead Stadium when the Chiefs got their postseason ticket for a sixth straight season.

Denver led much of the game, but Kansas City took the lead in the final seconds of the third quarter and never looked back. The Broncos had a chance too late and moved into midfield just over six minutes ahead, three points behind, but the Chiefs gave Denver a fourth decision and the Broncos took the playoff.

Kansas City then drove 55 yards and chewed on the clock for more than five minutes before settling on a 48-yard field goal – the Chiefs’ fifth of the night – to take the advantage with little more than one One minute ahead.

The Broncos took over their own 25-yard line and needed a touchdown, but the safety of Chiefs Tyrant Mathieu took Broncos quarterback Drew Lock off to seal the victory for Kansas City.

It secured the Chiefs’ seventh straight win of the season and their 11th straight win over Denver, which is a franchise record.

The Chiefs managed to keep this streak alive despite failing to find the end zone in the first half. In fact, for the first 30 minutes of play overall, it was a low-score affair as the two teams combined only scored 19 points.

Lock found broad receiver Tim Patrick for a 5-yard score – the only touchdown of the first half – with just over six minutes in the second quarter to break a 3-3 draw, but the Chiefs reduced that Deficit before the break as kicker Harrison Butker joined a couple of field goals to get Kansas City within a point.

Butker then tied a fourth field goal to start the second half and made a 31-yard attempt to push Kansas City forward all night for the first time.

Denver responded with another touchdown ride when Lock Patrick scored again for a 5-yard score to regain the lead, but Kansas City eventually broke through a series later. Mahomes completed 4 of 6 passes and scored a 75 yard attack for third place. The climax was a 20-yard hit against Travis Kelce for the Chiefs’ first touchdown that night.

Kelce took eight catches for 136 yards in the competition, beating 1. 000 yards for the fifth consecutive year. Notably, Kelce is the only close ending in NFL history to feature five campaigns with a range of 1. 000 yards have been counted in one career for five consecutive seasons.

His 20-yard hit put Kansas City in the lead towards the end of the third quarter, and while the Broncos fought non-stop, the Chiefs never gave up the lead.

Mahomes finished the game with 318 passes and one score, expanding his franchise record streak to 22 consecutive games with a touchdown pass. He distributed the ball to eight different recipients throughout the night.

Defensively, the Chiefs kept the opposition below 21 for the seventh time in the NFL, while Mathieu scored the second multi-interception game of his career.

The win has brought the Chiefs to 31: 4 against AFC West since 2015 – by far the best score for any team against. their own department during this period.

Kansas City will be back in action next Sunday when they travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins.
