World News – US cops investigate BOMB THREAT in the Empire State Building in New York – Reports

Officials from the New York Police Department (NYPD) are currently investigating a bomb threat that was carried out against the city’s iconic Empire State Building on Sunday morning. Police sources told the local news agency PIX11 that someone called 911 at 11 a.m. local time and warned that a bomb would go off the skyscraper at noon.

The NYPD bombing squad is reportedly on the scene. There was no explosion at noon, however, and a police spokesman told the Daily Mail that the threat “appears to be unfounded at the time. ”

Officials in New York City have been on high alert since Christmas when a bomb exploded in a parked RV in central Nashville, Tennessee, injuring three people. The bombing took place near an AT&T broadcast building. In a statement released an hour later, the NYPD said that counterterrorism officers were being deployed in 16 « critical infrastructure sectors » in New York.

Little is known about the bomber behind the Nashville explosion. The surveillance camera footage recorded an audio countdown and evacuation notice played by the vehicle in advance of the detonation, and law enforcement immediately afterwards claimed that the explosion was “an act of deliberation. ”

After the media claimed the bomber was killed in the explosion, FBI agents named Anthony Quinn Warner, 63, as a « person of interest » and ransacked his home in Antioch, Tennessee on Saturday. According to reports, agents from the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) asked locals if Warner might be motivated by « paranoia about 5G technology, » hence his choice of target.
