FORT MYERS, Fla. – Lee County Sheriffs are responding to reports of a threat at Gateway Charter High School, officials said.

In an email sent to parents, Principal Amber Jensen said the school has closed completely after receiving a text message threatening the school.

“We immediately advised law enforcement and all students safely in their classrooms,” the principal said.

Representatives will remain at the scene « until the situation is resolved, » Jensen said. Anyone who comes to the school will not be allowed in by the police.

The manager has sent parents an update stating that two people have been taken into custody.

« The police are still actively investigating but they haven’t found any credible threat, » Jensen said..

According to the Lee County sheriff’s office, no threats have yet been found and no active shooter. Safety scans are conducted.

Officials say that once the building is cleared by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, parents can pick up their children. According to Principal Jensen, the afternoon buses will not operate and all students will have to be transported.
