Drugs may contain unacceptable levels of a contaminant called N-Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) found in water, dairy products, meat, and fruits and vegetables The substance could cause cancer in people who ingest more than 96 mg per day The recall involves the following 500 mg and 700 mg prolonged-release tablets manufactured by Marksans Pharma Limited and Sun Pharmaceuticals:
Anyone taking this medicine should return it to the pharmacy where it was purchased for a replacement You should not stop taking the medicine until you can get a replacement without consulting a doctor or health care professional Stopping the drug could be dangerous for people with type 2 diabetes
