Two people were found dead in a house in Middleborough and a 21-year-old man who lived there is charged with their murders.

The police were moved to 3 Highland St. . around 6:30 a.m.. m. Thursday morning to do a comfort check. The employee of one of the victims requested it after they failed to show up for work, Middleborough Police Chief Joseph Perkins said during a press conference Thursday afternoon.

After watching the scene, the police decided to force entry into the house. Inside, they found a man and a woman dead. Their names have not been released publicly as police verify their identities and notify their family members, Perkins said. He expects to reveal her identity later Thursday.

Soon after, the authorities arrested Ryan True, who was away from the residence at the time. According to the boss, he is charged with two murder cases. He is related to the victims, but Perkins would not publicly disclose what the relationship is. True was held at the city police department from noon. His indictment is expected on Thursday or Friday.

Perkins noted that True’s arrest was « uneventful ». « He did not comment on True saying anything while he was in custody. Nor would he comment on anything found on the spot, including potential weapons. Nor did the boss say whether officials have ever been home.

« This is a tragic and dire situation for the family of the deceased and also here in the City of Middleborough, » Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz said during the press conference. “This is a beautiful little church that luckily doesn’t come up very often here. ”
