MISSOULA – Just minutes before the kick-off against Washington on Wednesday in Seattle, some breaking news hit the men’s basketball team in Montana.
Graduate transfer Cameron Satterwhite has left the UM basketball program. Griz Riley Corcoran’s Montana Voice announced the news on the pre-game radio show, and a team spokesperson confirmed the move with MTN Sports.
Satterwhite’s stint at UM was short-lived after joining the grizzlies of an enemy in the Big Sky Conference in northern Arizona. He played in Montana’s first two games of the season, including a start in the first of two games against southern Utah. Satterwhite ended his UM career with 2 to 13 from the field and 0 to 8 from the depths with four total points. He added three rebounds and four assists in two games.
Satterwhite didn’t fit in SUU second game or against Georgia, but when he met the media last week, head coach Travis DeCuire said he would be available for Montana’s home game against Yellowstone Christian College last Saturday. Satterwhite never played against YCC.
Satterwhite moved from NAU to Montana in April, where he spent two seasons. Satterwhite previously spent two seasons with Loyola Chicago. Satterwhite was released for UM in September, ending a long wait.
Satterwhite’s departure is the final roster revenue for the Griz men’s basketball team. Guard Timmy Falls left the team in July and has since landed at Cal State University in San Bernardino. The security guard Naseem Gaskin was released from the team in September due to pending legal problems.
Together with the departure of Peter Jones, who has been in action for three years, Montana has only 13 players in the squad after 17 players at the beginning of May.
