After their clean win against South Africa, England took the top spot in the T20I rankings and ousted Australia.
Cape Town: England have ousted Australia from number one in the ICC T20I rankings after whitewashing an extensive series about South Africa in the recently concluded three-game rubber.
England defeated the Proteas in the last T20I at Newlands by nine wickets to complete the series sweep. Dawid Malan (99 *) and Jos Buttler (67 *) did short work to chase 192 and give England a 3-0 victory on Tuesday evening.
The recent success means the team led by Eoin Morgan has continued to build on their undefeated run in the T20I series that began in October 2018. England is number one in ODIs and fourth in tests.
India, on the other hand, ranks third in T20Is and is expected to score a few points when they face Australia in the three-game series from Friday. The page cited by Virat Kohli ranks second in ODIs and third in tests.
Malan is at the top of the T20Is player ranking for batsmen, followed by Babar Azam, Aaron Finch and KL Rahul. In the bowler rankings, Rashid Khan is at the top, followed by his teammates Mujeeb ur Rahman and Ashton Agar.
In the list of all-rounders, Mohammad Nabi is at the top of the podium, followed by Shakib al Hasan and Glenn Maxwell.
