Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said he expected Ezekiel Elliott to run back against the 49ers on Sunday, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Elliott would play, and Elliott himself said he would play despite a calf injury be in the lineup.
It’s the first game Elliott missed this season and the first game he missed since the last game of the 2017 season.
