There’s a new supercar from Texas-based tuner Hennessey Performance, and we don’t know we could have waited another day.

The Hennessey Venom F5 is the official successor to the Venom GT 2011-2017 and the first completely original in-house project of the Scrappy Tuning company. Where the Venom GT is built on a stretched Lotus Exige chassis and powered by a dual-turbocharged Chevy LS7, the F5 will use a unique Hennessey chassis that draws the power of a Hennessey-developed 6 with dual turbochargers. 6-liter V8 – but based on Chevy’s small-block architecture.

The Venom F5 was a long time coming, but the supercar is out today, Tuesday the 15th. December, finally ready to be revealed. To get everyone pumping, Hennessey has just given everyone a little glimpse into the supercar’s wheels.

The wheels on the Venom F5 have seen little evolution since the supercar first broke cover as a concept in 2017. You still have ten spokes looking as thin as possible for something that needs to be used at 300 mph. However, they have a lighter finish, as well as center caps with the new logo for Hennessey Special Vehicles. This is the brand new division Hennessey founded in 2017 to build the F5 – and presumably other future vehicle designs as well.

From the picture it can be seen that the wheels will most likely be made of an aluminum alloy, although with carbon fiber wheels gradually entering the mainstream, carbon cannot be ruled out as a potential optional wheel material. Gosh, there’s enough of it in the rest of the car already.

The Hennessey Venom F5 receives the « F5 » in its name from the highest rating on the Fujita scale for evaluating tornadoes based on their maximum wind speed and their destructive potential. F5 tornadoes have peak wind speeds between 261 and 318 miles per hour. It is no coincidence that Hennesseys 1. The 85 hp F5 has a top speed of more than 300 mph.

Stay tuned as Hennessey finally unveils the limited-edition successor to the remarkable Venom GT.
