The Minnesota Vikings had the chance to distinguish themselves as a team on the rise in the NFC. They missed it against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a 26-14 loss.

On the other hand, that loss could really be behind Dan Bailey’s leg, more than a subpar game by Kirk Cousins.

The Vikings are now sitting between 6am and 7am, playing with the Chicago Bears for eighth place in the NFC. While it looks more like the Arizona Cardinals legitimate enough to get through the postseason, anything can happen. And with three weeks left in the regular season, it might be too late for Minnesota to find the answers.

However, it won’t be over until after the final whistle, so anything can happen in the coming weeks. Believe it or not, Minnesota still has a chance to represent NFC North and show that slow starts are the new trending style in 2020.

Two of the Vikings’ last three games depend heavily on winning against their own division. They’ll face the Bears again next week, hoping for a clean win this year as they finish Week 17 against Detroit.

If the bears lose, Minnesota will automatically have the tiebreaker if both teams finish 8-8. Despite a win under Mitchell Trubisky with few sales, Chicago has to end its year against Green Bay. Given the proximity of the No.. 1 seed is, don’t count on Aaron Rodgers and Co. . easy to handle.

We hope Minnesota can stir things up against New Orleans and its fiery defenses too.

What’s really important to Arizona that has a game ahead of it. You will end the season with games against the Eagles, 49ers and Rams. Sure, San Francisco might be sitting at 5-7, but the team played 2-2 in the division game.

Arizona must lose all three while the Vikings must win a pair. Most importantly, Mike Zimmer’s staff will have to win against their NFC North rival at home this coming Sunday to stay alive.

All of this could happen on Sunday, or it could just be the start of a wild and insane ending to the NFC postseason.
