Continuing a Thanksgiving half-time tradition, the Cowboys kicked off the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign with an appearance by country star Kane Brown.
But unlike normal years, this halftime show didn’t take place on the pitch due to COVID-19 restrictions. Instead, Brown’s performance was taped right outside the AT&T stadium in Dallas with flashing lights and dancing cheerleaders to match his twang.
Brown has joined a who’s who list of country stars for the past two decades, including Kenny Chesney, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Keith Urban. And Brown brings up the Salvation Army cause.

« There were times when my family didn’t have enough to eat or had a roof over their heads, and today there are so many people in need. 2020 has been a tough year, but every little act of generosity helps, « Brown said in a press release. “I am honored to have the opportunity to raise awareness of how people can help this holiday season and beyond. ”
Brown is 27 years old and originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee. He auditioned for The X Factor and American Idol, but made a name for himself by covering popular songs and posting them on YouTube.
Since then he has released two studio albums and won the American Music Award « Favorite Country Male Artist » in 2019. His album « Experiment » peaked at No.. 1 on Billboard’s top chart in 2018 and he played « Worship You » during the show, a single that was released last month.
