. . The Louisville soccer team will face Wake Forest for the last time in 2020. It's Seniors Day in Louisville as 18 seniors won't look. . .

. .

It’s Seniors Day in Louisville as 18 seniors will try to win the final game as a member of the Louisville football program for many of them.

Of course, the players were entitled to keep their sponsorship year from 2020, so there is a chance some of the seniors honored on Seniors Day will be back at the Cardinals next season.

If there are returning seniors, these players have not yet been publicly announced. You’d have to assume that the staff would want some of the talented veterans to return with the team for another season.

Before we worry about this confusion, Louisville has to play another game against Wake Forest in 2020.

It’s been a crazy few weeks for the program with rumors spreading of Scott Satterfield’s possible departure over the Louisville countryside. Now there will finally be game actions.

Wake Forest hasn’t played in four weeks and has only practiced a very small amount during that time. They have won four of their last five games, while losing their last game 59-53 to North Carolina.

* Disclaimer: You will not be wearing a hat and robes during the Saturday game in case anyone feels confused. That would be a fun way to spice things up, though.

Look for all of these players to get some significant reps at one point or another in the game. Most of these guys have made solid contributions to the team and we really don’t know if this will be the last time they’ll wear the red cardinal uniforms or not.

Anyway, make sure you root for them and (maybe) get less angry if they make a bad game as the game progresses.

Especially for a man like Dez Fitzpatrick, who has already announced that he will not be returning to the program after spending five years in Louisville. Tabarius Peterson, Robbie Bell, Jawon Pass, and Derek Dorsey are other players who have been on the Louisville program for five years.

It would be fun to see a win. It’s been a wild couple of weeks for Louisville football fans who no longer thought their coach was going but were almost unanimously frustrated with Satterfield with the way things were being handled.

Now, on the final day, fans have the chance to watch the departure of some of Louisville’s best players over the past few seasons. There is no better way than winning.

Wake Forest hasn’t played a soccer game in 28 days, and the Cardinals should be able to take advantage of that.

The Demon Deacons are a solid ACC team and have seen an upward trend since their last few games. Louisville, even though it’s 3-7, should have a chip on its shoulder given the circumstances of Seniors Day. The teams always seem to play more when the seniors are appreciated.

The sales battle will amount to a ton in this case. Wake has the best ROI in the nation while Louisville has the second worst in the same category. Pay attention while the game is playing. Many fans would be satisfied with less than three turnovers by the team in this matchup.

I find it difficult to imagine this Wake Forest team coming to the Cardinals after a four-week football break because of their Covid problems in the program.

As long as Louisville is capping sales and someone shows up in place of Tutu Atwell on Saturday, I like the likelihood that the Cardinals will take this one and let the seniors soar.
