Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, 25. December) – An earthquake shook some people in parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, on Christmas morning.
Intensity IV, or « moderately strong » shaking, was felt in Lemery and Malvar, Batangas; San Pedro, Laguna; Manila City; Marikina City; Quezon City; Cainta and Antipolo City, Rizal and Pasig City.
Intensity III, characterized by « weak » shaking, occurred in the following areas: Caloocan City; Tanay, Rizal; San Jose del Monte City and Plaridel, Bulacan; City of Gapan, Nueva Ecija; Cabangan and Iba, Zambales; Samal, Bataan; City of Valenzuela; and Malabon City.
Intensity II has been reported in San Isidro, Nueva Ecija and Alaminos City, Pangasinan. This means that people in these areas were « slightly » shocked by the tremors.
The agency has had at least four aftershocks since the 7:43 am quake. m. , but it was said that no significant damage was to be expected. Local officials have not yet reported any damage or loss.
