As inconsistent as Man United have been this season, they are so far removed from the mix at the top of the table one might assume. A win here could see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s seventh-placed team move up to third overall depending on how clinically they can stand in front of goal and taking into account Tottenham’s loss to Leicester earlier in the day.

The fourteenth Leeds could move into the top half of the table with three points in Manchester this afternoon as the first season in the top division since 2003/04 continues. Marcelo Bielsa’s men won 5-2 against Newcastle last time out thanks to a late win of three goals in the last 15 minutes on Elland Road. Man United, for their part, came into play after beating Sheffield United 3-2 – a result that was not without its difficulties. Patrick Bamford, Rodrigo, Stuart Dallas, Ezgjan Alioski and Jack Harrison were the goalscorers for Leeds against the Magpies, while a Marcus Rashford brace and an Anthony Martial finish saw Man United slip by the blades.

Spurs 0-2 Leicester: A Vardy penalty and an own goal bring Mourinho yet another defeat.

90 4 minutes: full time. There is the pipe. Leicester takes the three points and moves up to second place in the table. It’s been a bad week for Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham. Losing to Liverpool and Leicester have made them drop from first to fourth and could be lower on the table depending on different results. Leicester were the better team that day and they won the points.

90 minutes: four minutes of stoppage time. James Maddison brings the ball onto the pitch after a pass from Tielemans. James Justin is played into the penalty area, but the ball goes away from him and rolls out for a goal kick.

87 minutes: Jamie Vardy is lifted for Kelechi Iheanacho. He’s hobbling with what looks like general wear and tear.

84 minutes: Dennis Praet comes in for the final minutes, replacing Harvey Barnes for Leicester. Leicester threatens to break again, but Vardy’s passport to Maddison is too far from him and Spurs regains possession.

81 minutes: So close! Jamie Vardy blocked a shot, but the ball came to Harvey Barnes. He shoots from distance but cannot get the ball through. James Maddison picks up the loose ball and threads it to Vardy, who takes another shot on goal, but Hugo Lloris has it covered.

78 minutes: Eric Dier is punished for challenging Harvey Barnes. He can’t believe it and gives the referee an ear to earn a yellow card. The free kick goes into the box and Wesley Fofana heads it over the goal.

76 minutes: Oh my god. Harry Kane throws the ball at Jamie Vardy and he sprints into the area. He gives Harvey Barnes a pass that looks like it was torn down by Moussa Sissoko, but Craig Pawson lets the game go on and Spurs cleared.
