Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has officially announced that the long-awaited film Fantastic Four is in active development. In addition, he announced that Jon Watts is tied to Direct. This is massive news for comic book fans who have waited years to see a proper version of the legendary team hit the big screen under the umbrella of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Feige previously teased Fantastic Four at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 but didn’t go into further details.
No more information about Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four is currently available, but Kevin Feige has released a sleek new logo informing fans that Marvel’s first family has come home. As for the other team, Feige didn’t mention the X-Men, who are also believed to be currently in active development at Marvel Studios. Regardless, the Fantastic Four news should be more than enough for fans to get started for the time being, especially after looking closely at the new logo for the upcoming movie.
Kevin Feige hasn’t announced a release date for the upcoming Fantastic Four movie either, but it’s fair to assume it will be a while before it hits theaters. It’s also a mystery who will star in the film, though there has been much speculation over the years. John David Washington has been rumored to play Reed Richards, also known as Mister Fantastic, on which he recently commented. When asked what he would say to Kevin Feige if he could try it, the actor said, « I would say, ‘Well, thank you for having me, thank you for attending this meeting. Where do i sign? ‘ »
John Krasinski is another actor allegedly slated to play the role of Reed Richards in Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four. « I’d love to. I think being part of the Marvel world would be amazing anyway, and the fact that people would consider me for even that level of part would be amazing, « Krasinski said earlier this year when he asked for a possible MCU role was asked. « I really haven’t had any conversations or don’t know what will happen to them. I’m waiting for Kevin’s announcements as to what the hell is going to happen to this, as are you. « The actor is probably pretty excited about all the announcements that came out today.
