CHICAGO (CBSDFW. COM / AP) – Luka Doncic is out Sunday night with a left quadriceps contusion for the Dallas Mavericks game against the Chicago Bulls.
Doncic was injured in the second quarter of a home win against Miami Heat on Friday night. He continued playing and ended the season with 27 points and 14 rebounds.
« We’ll see how he’s doing tomorrow, » said Dallas coach Rick Carlisle. « We don’t think this is a long-term thing. ”
The 21-year-old Slovenian star has got off to a relatively slow start this season. He averages 24. 4 points, 7. 6 rebounds and 6. 4 assists, shooting 43. 2% in total and 16. 1% on 3-pointers in five games.
Dallas is also still without striker Kristaps Porzingis as he continues to recover from knee surgery. He is expected to make his season debut in January.
