Geoffrey Berman, the displaced U. . S.. . The New York Southern District attorney will join a New York-based law firm.

Berman has been hired by the New York-based law firm Fried, Frank, Harris and Shriver & Jacobson, the law firm said in a statement Tuesday.

The Justice Department announced on Jan.. June announced that the former prosecutor had resigned. Berman denied that claim the same day, making it clear that he had not resigned.

Berman told the House Judiciary Committee in July that Barr had repeatedly urged him to resign before his fall.

« The attorney general said if I did not step down from my position I would be fired, » Berman told the panel. « He added that being fired from my job would not be good for my resume or future job prospects. I told him I wouldn’t resign even though I didn’t want to be fired. « 


A week after his testimony, he was hired to teach a course at Stanford Law School in the Fall of 2020 entitled “Prosecutor Discretion and Ethical Duties in Enforcing Federal Criminal Law”.

At his new job, Berman will represent individuals and companies in employee cases, internal investigations, and complex commercial disputes.
