UPDATE: The bulk transfer of electricity from New Brunswick to Presque Isle has been interrupted, affecting our customers in Aroostook County. We are actively working to serve customers from another source in the event the disruption persists.
Versant power crews are investigating the cause of a widespread outage in Aroostook County, of which more than 20. 000 customers are affected. The crews will work to safely restore service as soon as possible. Versant Power said updated information on an estimated recovery time will be posted on our website and on your Twitter account (@versantpower) as more information becomes available.
The public is reminded never to touch a rundown power line or a tree in contact with a rundown line. Motorists are encouraged to slow down or change lanes if possible when contacting road utilities. Customers using generators or alternative heating sources are advised to use them at all times in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines.
