World News – USA – Pick Six: Devontae Booker faces a big day in New York

. . With Josh Jacobs ruled out for Sunday's game with Johnathan Abram, multiple players will have to take their place to take the lead.

. .

Jon Gruden publicly announced on Friday afternoon that returning star Josh Jacobs would miss Sunday’s game. Jacobs has an ankle injury sustained in the fourth quarter of his loss to the Falcons last Sunday.

Despite being excluded, the Raiders at Devontae Booker have a similar back behind them that has proven it can lift the weight. Booker is in the middle of a resurgent season with the Raiders after seeing minimal snapshots in his last two seasons with the Denver Broncos. Behind Jacobs, Booker ran 326 yards and three touchdowns with a whooping cough 5. 5 yards per carry this season.

The Raiders will have a lot in store against a solid jet-run defense, but Booker has the speed, pace and toughness to get the job in Jacob’s absence. Don’t be surprised if he has a career game at MetLife Stadium this Sunday.

Another big success for the Raiders this Sunday was Coach Gruden, who announced that the starting safety of Johnathan Abram (knee) will also not be in action in this action. Although ruled out, the Raiders will get two players back who can help fill in the void left by Alpha Dog Abram.

Clelin Ferrell from 2019 first round returns after missing two games against COVID-19. Safety Lamarcus Joyner was also put back on the active roster on Friday after being on the COVID-19 reservation as well.

Ferrell’s presence on the line of defense will be enormous to accommodate Sam Darnold and Frank Gore for the Jets. Joyner’s seasoned leadership and playmaker skills will also be welcomed back at Abram’s place. Jeff Heath should be another player to see more snaps instead of Abram as he leads the team on interceptions (3) this season.

Silver and Black could have a difficult task facing off against pre-eminent former USC Trojan Sam Darnold. In the Jets 34-3 win over the Raiders last November, Darnold had thrown one of his best games of his NFL career for 315 yards, two touchdowns with almost 69 percent completion. Coach Gruden and defensive coordinator Paul Guenther still remember what Darnold and his offense did to the Raiders last year.

« Well, we saw Darnold last year, we know what he’s capable of, » said Jon Gruden. « He’s a powerful guy. We saw him battle Denver for a 50-yard touchdown. He’s a great competitor; He got hurt. You have to prepare for a lot, they have a large-scale crime. They do a lot of different things. «

« He’s a talented guy, he can walk around in your pocket, » said Paul Günther. « He’s a bigger guy to get on the ground, he can do all the throws.

In a year of negatives for the winless New York Jets, their run defense was their salvation.

The young defense, led by defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, has shown excellent sparks against their rivals this year. You currently occupy the 11th. Place in the league of rushing yards allowed this season. The Jets ‘success in stopping the run is largely due to Alabama Quinnen Williams’ 2019 first round selection. The Birmingham, Ala. The native American had one Pro Bowl season for the Jets with 41 tackles, 11 of those tackles against loss, and five sacks in the seven games he has played that season.

« You don’t usually see tall people moving like him, » said offensive coordinator Greg Olson. « And you saw that in college, obviously he was a dominant player in college. Again, you just don’t see athletes of this size moving. We’ll have our hands full. «

Silver and black also have to pay close attention to people in the backfield of the jets. After all, he’s the third leading rusher in NFL history.

Frank Gore is playing in his 15th. Season in the NFL still at a high level and doing things on site for the Jets. Gore is the team’s lead rusher averaging 5. 4 yards a carry at the age of 37.

« Incredible athlete, incredible response, » said Greg Olson. « Time doesn’t seem to affect him in a position where you would normally see it affect walking backwards at an early age. A credit to him as a player and how well he has trained his body and taken care of his body over the years. «

« Fresh legs, he runs hard, he runs behind his pads, he is well protected, » said Paul Günther. « He’s a great locker room guy. We’ll look out for him on Sunday. «

The weather is expected to be in the 30’s around game time with winds close to 20 mph. It is expected that there will be rain showers throughout Saturday, which can also affect the conditions of the grass field at MetLife Stadium.

Despite the weather or field conditions that may arise during the action, the Raiders proved in their epic battle in Cleveland earlier this year that it won’t let them down.
