World News – USA – Preview: Doubts about the future of the key duo as Zamalek meets Enppi – Egyptian Football – Sports

Zamalek will face Enppi in the fourth Egyptian Premier League game at Petrosport Stadium in Cairo on Saturday

. .

Zamalek’s low-lying striker Youssef Ibrahim, veteran winger Shikabala, left-back Ahmed Fatouh and substitute Mahmoud Gennesh have all signed new contracts, but Sassi is still reluctant to put pen to paper while Mohamed looks to get out.

The White Knights are reportedly still unable to meet midfielder Sassi’s financial demands while Mohamed is pressuring the club to accept an offer from French Ligue 1 side Saint Etienne to sign him in January.

Sassi is out due to muscle strain, while Mohamed, who has scored twice in Zamalek’s two opening games, is unavailable for the second game in a row as he is negotiating a way out with the club.

Zamalek, who lost the championship to long-term rivals Ahly from Cairo last season, got off to a good start to his new season, collecting seven points in the first three games.

They were particularly impressive in their 2-0 win over Smouha, when some of their stars, including Moroccan winger Achraf Bencharki, regained their form.

Zamalek is returning key defensive midfielder Tarek Hamed and left full-back Abdallah Gomaa after both recovering from COVID-19 infections.
