Spencer Rattler turned his season around after standing on a bench in the middle of a rivalry against Texas. Since then, Rattler has led a comeback win and the Sooners to four straight wins.

Since Rattler knew the previous quarterback pedigree under Lincoln Riley, there were many expectations of Rattler as a Redshirt novice. Now, on his way to the Oklahoma State game, Rattler is ready for Bedlam.

Speaking to ESPN’s Maria Taylor at College GameDay, Rattler spoke about expectations for him as quarterback for Oklahoma and how the team put it 5-2 on the season.

« The biggest thing I’ve learned is how to use this light at this university, » said Rattler. « It’s a huge position and it’s great for me as a player to be able to take parts of what they did. Only we know that at this point in the season where these games really matter, it was time to take it one step further. We don’t have a mentality to lose up here so it was really uncomfortable when we lost those games, especially in the conference game. But we’re getting better from week to week, which is good to see.

« I came to the Bedlam game on my official visit a few years ago and just because of the tension and emotion, all about the game. . . It’s a super fun environment. . . It will be a loud and emotional game. Hopefully we go out there and win. ”

Tim Tebow spoke on Saturday morning in the SportsCenter about the turning point for Rattler in 2020 and why he has the hot hand in the game against the Cowboys.

« He was pulled in the middle of the game in Texas and then goes back in and finds a way to win that, » Tebow told SportsCenter. “It could grow and mature after sitting down. I thought this would be such a statement game for Oklahoma and for Spencer to know not only that he has the talent, but also that mental toughness, that strength, that « it » factor, that heart that you are into must intervene when things get difficult. This is a five star hotel that has not been difficult for him since third grade peewee football. They were easy games for him. Then it got really difficult. But now he knows what that feeling is like.

« I think that will help him with this game, the rest of the season, and the rest of his career. He has overcome some mental hurdles so that he can really show himself now and I am very happy to see him tonight. ”

In seven games this season, Rattler is 141 out of 208 passes (67). 8% completion percentage) for 2. 018 yards, 18 touchdowns, six interceptions, 101 rushing yards, and three rushing touchdowns. In the last four games (all wins), Rattler is 72 out of 114 (63). 1% completion percentage) for 1. 014 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions.
