Roberts, née Victoria Leigh Blum, began her modeling career in the 1970s. During this time she met and married her husband, screenwriter Barry Roberts, with whom she was with until his death in 2006.

She switched to acting in 1975 and made her film debut in the horror film The Last Victim. From then on, Roberts quickly garnered roles which eventually led her to Charlie’s Angels, the hit series about a trio of detectives with immaculately feathered hair. Roberts played Julie Rogers and joined the show in 1980 when it was in a period of dramatic fluctuations. Farrah Fawcett was gone and the ratings were shaky. Roberts handled the situation with diplomatic grace. « That’s every job, I think, » she told Johnny Carson in an optimistic 1981 interview. « There was someone before you, there will be someone after you. « . â ????

Roberts eventually swapped TV detectives for international spies and in 1985 took on the role of Bond girl Stacey Sutton in the film A View to a Kill, starring Roger Moore as James Bond. The character was a geologist and the granddaughter of a wealthy oil magnate. At first, Roberts was reluctant to take on the role and was nervous about being pigeonholed for the rest of her career. I remember saying to my agent: Nobody ever works after getting a Bond movie. and they said to me: « Are you kidding? » Glenn Close would do it if she could, ????? ???? She told the Daily Mail in 2015. And I thought to myself, well, you can regret it if you want, but what is it about? At the time I didn’t know what I know now, and to be honest, who would really turn down this role? ????

Roberts has worked steadily over the years, taking on television roles on shows like High Tide and That 70’s Show. In the latter sitcom, which revolved around a group of high school stoners, Roberts played Midge Pinciotti, the lovable fat mom next door. Pinciotti went on to become one of her best-known roles alongside her Bond girl, and likely a generation of television viewers met the actor.
