MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) – It’s been a busy week for politics at both state and national levels as the electoral college prepares for the meeting and Minnesota state legislation convenes for a seventh special session.
The legislature comes into force at 15. 00 o’clock together again. m. Monday for the seventh time since the end of the regular session this summer.
You plan to tackle economic relief for small businesses, and lawmakers have worked behind the scenes to reach agreement on the basis of a deal.
At a press conference last week, Sen. . Senate committee chairman Eric Pratt (R – Prior Lake) said lawmakers want to help businesses quickly.
« This is a $ 216 million package that will provide much-needed cash relief to the hardest hit businesses, » he said.
It also includes money for local food and beverage companies, as well as money for cinemas and multipurpose convention centers.
During a committee meeting last week, Rep. Tim Mahoney (DFL – St. . Paul), who presented the aid package, said companies must have lost at least 30 percent of sales since last year.
« We want to get money into these companies affected by Executive Order 2099 early and quickly so that they have a certain level of security, » he said.
The 41. The Minnesota electoral college meeting will meet as part of the formal process to select the next president.
The electoral college meeting will take place at 12 noon. m. Monday at the Minnesota House of Representatives in St.. . Paul.
