The warriors discovered a formula for success in winning the Trail Blazers on Sunday. The only question was whether or not they could repeat it.
On Monday, on the second night of a back-to-back set, Golden State (4-3) repeated that formula in a 137-106 win over the Sacramento Kings (3-4) at the Chase Center.
The Warriors, four of their last five winners, thrive as Stephen Curry finds his scoring rhythm, Draymond Green manages offense and defense, and receives vital input from a new cast.
Curry looked fresh after hitting a career high of 62 points on Sunday and scored 11 points in his first 12 minutes as the Warriors rose between 37 and 20 after the first quarter. He finished 9v18 shooting a total of 30 points (5v12 from 3-point range), nine rebounds and eight assists, and earned the rest of the night after 31 minutes free.
The Warriors led wire-to-wire against a Kings team that had won the last three meetings. Kelly Oubre Jr. . who came into play from 3-point range at 2 to 30, broke his season opener with 18 points on 6-on-13, including 4-on-6 from outside the arc. Andrew Wiggins scored 16 points and five assists, while Eric Paschall, who played with the second unit primarily as a center for small balls, added 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
After the Warriors struggled to build chemistry in three blowout defeats in their first five games, they look strengthened again with Green in the line-up during this homestand with seven games. After head coach Steve Kerr committed to a simplified offensive and regular rotation, his team set an NBA season high with 41 assists, made 23 of 43 out of 3-point range and limited the Kings to 37. 5% total shoot.
On the way to the matchup on Wednesday with the L. . A. Clippers, Golden State is up . 500 for the first time this season.
