The NBA is in its brief off-season, but Houston Rockets star James Harden still managed to be in the national spotlight on Sunday night, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr named one acoustic signal (i. e. changed the games on the border) by shouting Harden’s name.
Fittingly, the resulting game was an isolation run. Harden is of course known as perhaps the best isolation shooter in basketball history.
Unfortunately for Harden, the Las Vegas team’s official account was busy trolling, advising that the Harden beep was not a passing game. (Despite reports by some that Harden is not a willing passer-by, he ranks in the top 10 NBA assists every year and led the league in that category in the 2016-17 season. )
Even so, the Houston perennial MVP finalist is now used to these jokes, and he can even appreciate the bonus presence in the shortened 2020 off-season. The 2020-21 season begins with the NBA training camp opening next Tuesday, December. 1.
