WESTAMPTON, N. . J. . (CBS) – Wawa had a grand celebration in Burlington County on Friday, opening its first drive-thru store. History was made when the first Wawa thoroughfare opened on Rancocas Road in Westampton.
Christmas might be next Friday, but if you’re a die-hard wawa fan, Santa Claus probably got an early present for you.
You now have the opportunity to enjoy your Wawa favorites such as Wawa coffee and Hoagie comfortably and safely in your car.
Wawa officials were present for a tape cut that marked the official opening of the Westampton transit.
Customers can order Wawa classics such as the Italian or meatball hoagies. There are also new drive-thru menu items like burgers, fries and noodle bowl.
Organizers say they have long dreamed of it, and believe it or not, the pandemic has accelerated their plans.
“Since March we have realized that we need to accelerate our initiative and change this initiative. We saw our competition and drive-through activity increase immensely, so we took our initiative and wanted to test that, ”said Brian Schaller, Wawa Chief Real Estate Officer. “We were able to open this site in nine months from concept to today. ”
