The Mizzou soccer team will play their newly scheduled matchup with Vanderbilt on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Faurot Field. M.. .

The Tigers beat South Carolina 17-10 last week.

After the win, head coach Eli Drinkwitz said he would reevaluate his call to play. In the second half, the offensive came to a standstill as the tigers mostly stuck to the ground. Larry Rountree III stretchered 21, but only 56 meters at night.

However, putting things on the offensive may not be a problem against the Vanderbilt Commodores. The defense allows 36. 4 points per game.

History could also be made on Faurot Field on Saturday. The Vanderbilt Commodores recruited the outstanding Vanderbilt footballer Sarah Fuller to play on the field.

« Vanderbilt has dropped 35 points in five of their seven games this season so I’m confident Mizzou can move the ball on offense. This is the perfect opportunity for Connor Bazelak to get back on track after a few mediocre performances. As always, MU has to control the game on site with Larry Rountree. I expect another strong performance from the all-time leading rusher (for a turnaround) in Mizzou history. I don’t expect the Commodores to challenge the Mizzou defense too much. Nick Bolton is about to enjoy the Vandy Offensive. With that said, Derek Mason has a way to motivate his players so Mizzou better not overlook the 0-7 Commodores. I’m sure everyone remembers the 21-14 defeat last year. Anything can happen in 2020! « 

« I think Mizzou should take this pretty lightly, but you’re probably questioning my prediction of 21 points from Vanderbilt. Well, Mizzou has a handful of people in question for Saturday, especially on the defensive end of the ball. With a Commodore defense that allows more than 35 points per game, it’s not too difficult to say that this will be an offensive matchup. But if you’re into defense, you know Nick Bolton is going to leave it all behind.

This is a chance for Connor Bazelak to get some good numbers. It’s been solid in the last couple of forays but hasn’t mimicked LSU performance yet. Vanderbilt’s weakness has been Passport all year, so I definitely see Eli Drinkwitz taking advantage of that and maybe getting a little creative with Bazelak too. Overall, Missouri is the better football team this season, top to bottom, but it’s 2020. I’m not going to look past this one like the tigers shouldn’t either. «
