RICHMOND, Virginia (WWBT) – The Virginia Department of Transportation is already prepping roads before snow and preparing to work 24/7 on Sunday.
Since no rain is expected before the snow, VDOT can now take to the streets and apply a salt and sand mixture to melt the snow and give the drivers traction.
« We have crews pre-treating the hours of the day today and everything else they do today not reach, they will be ready in the morning so they are ready and prepared and have trucks loaded. We are ready for anything, « said Sara Owens from VDOT.
For those who live in a neighborhood where they snowplough bring along, residents should avoid parking on the street if possible.
Drivers who are on the move should give snowplows at least 30 m space and not pass them on the motorway.
