In the 24th minute of today’s Copa del Rey semi-final match between Barcelona and Sevilla, Jules Kounde created a real moment of magic outside of defense to put the Andalusian team in the lead.
Joan Jordan shoveled the Ball to Kounde, who was only 35 yards from his own goal. The center-back then decided to use the space left by Barcelona for a longer run.
Kounde jumped to the center line before drilling the ball into Suso and getting it back as part of a practical double on the overlap.
The The 22-year-old marched on and got behind a sliding Jordi Alba, pounding the ball into it before approaching a crowded area.
Kounde then had Fernando to thank for the defensive midfielder blocking counterpart Sergio Busquets and the The center-back gave him the space to leaf through.
Then my personal favorite moment of the game came, immediately after Kounde had got past Busquets, he tossed the ball into Samuel Umtiti, leaving his compatriot completely ruined.
Kounde marched into the Penalty area and drilled the ball into the back of the net with a finish that was a bizarre ode to its defensive roots as it slid to the ground, when the ball was fired.
A great individual performance by the Sevilla defender gives his team the lead against Barcelona? pic.twitter.com/MYgCLZetdK

While nothing should be taken away from Kounde for this inspired performance, Ronald Koeman and the Barcelona fans will be furious when so many stars are beaten by a center-back on his merry way to goal.
