Davis looked lively in a neon green Louis Vuitton dress for Sunday’s ceremony. The dress had a deep V-neckline, sleeved sleeves, and was adorned with metallic jewels that cascaded down the sides. The bold gown also had high slits.
Davis, styled by Elizabeth Stewart, complemented the gown with a sleek bob hairstyle and dangling earrings and other jewels from Forever Mark.
Tonight was a big night for Davis when she brought home best female actress in a leading role for her portrayal of blues singer Ma Rainey in the Netflix movie Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Davis’ co-star and late actor Chadwick Boseman took home the same award – in the men’s category – for the film. Boseman played Levee Green.
Today’s event, honoring the Best Television and Film Producers of the Year, also featured appearances by Cynthia Erivo, Helen Mirren, Jimmy Fallon and Henry Golding. Lily Collins and Mindy Kaling also performed.
Kaling also impressed in a bold hue and wore a royal blue royal robe dress. The stately look featured padded shoulders and ruffles in the center as the cloak fell down at Kaling’s feet. Kaling sported diamond earrings and wore her hair in a sleek, straight style.
