0

Since the ground is already soaked from weeks of heavy downpours, some catchment areas in the region are on flood watch again.

– In the north of the CBD, James Small Drive in Korora is affected and motorists are urged to use extreme caution and not attempt to drive through flood waters.

– The Ocean Parade in the pier area is inundated with water due to high tide and heavy rainfall over the road under the railway viaduct in Ocean Parade.

– There is also water above the surface of the street on Bray Street, Coffs Harbor and nearby Argyll and Frederick Streets. Drivers are warned not to drive through floods and to pay attention to the signs.

– Near Southern Cross University and sports fields, motorists are encouraged to look for water on the road at Phil Hawthorne and Drive Stadium Drives.

– West of Bellingen on the waterfall path Transport for NSW has announced that repairs will be carried out after heavy rain.

The east-facing lane of the waterfall path will be closed about 1.5 kilometers west of Bellingen, with a single-lane, alternative flow arrangement with a reduced speed limit.

It is intended to enable repair work on road drainage and embankments that have been damaged by the heavy rains. The extent of the damage is assessed when the current rain event is over.
