A heavy rain shower over the weekend in Australia’s Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park resulted in breathtaking waterfalls tumbling over rocks, as videos on social media showed.

Heavy rains were forecast to hit the east coast will subside today, but the floods will linger for days in the state of New South Wales, where 15,000 people nervously awaited evacuation orders.

Some parts of the state had recorded two-thirds of their annual rainfall in less than a week.

The flood rain had spread along the New South Wales coast, across the state line from Queensland in the north and almost to the border with Victoria in the south.
