World news – « We don’t take no for an answer »: warrior optimistic about 2022 home

Although Andrew Abdo, CEO of NRL, downplayed the idea, the Warriors are determined to host as many games as possible in 2022 - and a future Immortal is backing them.

The New Zealand Warriors are refusing to back off their ambitious plan to host as many games as possible on local soil in 2022 – and at least one future Immortal supports the idea.

Warriors boss Cameron George told The Sun-Herald earlier this month said he wanted to play up to 20 NRL games on New Zealand soil to restart the game for rugby fans.

George had already found paid-out investors to « get away » with the purchase of to help. Games and entice Australian clubs to bring games to different parts of New Zealand.

While NRL boss Andrew Abdo described George’s hopes as a wonderful gesture, but I don’t think we can do it, George himself made it clear that he was ready to dig his heels for a fight because « New Zealand deserves this ».

« I’m not going to take » no « for an answer – I’ll put a stake in the ground, ???? George related the Herald on Friday.

« The reality is we don’t expect every single game to be played in New Zealand next year. » We understand that there are broadcast commitments and commitments, but our goal is the next Playing as many games as possible in New Zealand over the year.

« We have had support from other clubs to make this happen. We have a lot of commercial support in New Zealand to get more content there next year. «

I’m ambitious, but I want to be, and I don’t think we should oppose it at all.

George said that he did not speak to Abdo or see his television interview about Fox Sports that aired during the Gold Coast inaugural win.

« But we will strive for it and we will not take » no « . for an answer at this time â ???? he said.

« Even if we get 15 or 16 games, it’s better than 11. It’s more about recognizing New Zealand and what the warriors did for the game. »

Rob Croot, chairman of Warriors added, « We have been disconnected from our market and fans for a long time and this would help rebuild us and the game in New Zealand. »

The Warriors moved after the relaunch of the NRL after the COVID Break last year to Australia. While their last stay on the NSW Central Coast has been extended by three months to June 21, the playgroup and staff privately admit that they may be forced to stay there for the entire season in Australia.

The Legend of Queensland, Johnathan Thurston is undoubtedly backing the warriors who will stay in their own backyard for much of 2022.

What they have done over the past two years to keep the competition going is the very least what the clubs can do here in Australia, to bring a home game of them to New Zealand and play there. Hopefully it will start. « ????

Eden Park in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Napier has emerged as a venue for additional content.

NRL clubs regularly host interstate home games or regional centers where they host between 250,000 and earn $ 300,000. Funders have to pay to help the warriors.
