World news – Woman flown to hospital after reporting an Irukandji sting

UPDATE 3:30 p.m .: A woman in her twenties was flown to Mackay Base Hospital after an alleged Irukandji sting in the Whitsundays.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the woman was stabbed in the leg and flown to the hospital in stable condition.

The spokeswoman said it was not known where in the waters of Pentecost Sunday the woman was stung.
