She shocked Sloane Stephens at this event last year, so she’s no stranger to big wins. She enters this match as an outsider, but a very capable one.
Despite her bad record in Australia, I expect Caroline Garcia to drive to victory here. She is just a lot better than Rodionova and the result should show it. She will be desperate to get used to the conditions here and gain some momentum here in Australia. If she is in good shape she may prefer to go deep at the Australian Open.
