World news – Xero achieves worldwide compliance with BDO

BDO has entered into a global partnership with Xero, with the accounting software being the platform of choice for the company’s small and medium-sized business customers.

The three-year global agreement provides that BDO companies in Australia, New Zealand, The UK and Canada will be among the first to adopt Xero as the accounting software of choice for their SMB customers. Other BDO companies will join in due course.

Matthew Laming, national leader in business services at BDO Australia, said the partnership comes after the COVID-19 pandemic highlights the importance of cloud accounting and access to highlighted accurate real-time data.

« While many of our customers were on the Xero journey prior to the pandemic, this agreement allows us to continue using the platform to give business owners access to real-time and accurate financial information so they can rely on focus on growing their business, « said Laming.

Likewise, Albert Lopez, global director of business services and outsourcing at BDO, said the partnership would help the company take a » consistent and truly global approach « to its small businesses Business customers.

« We know that having access to reliable data and the insights that D data is critical to our customers’ success in the new reality, « said Lopez.

 » Working with Xero will help BDO guide this agenda and deliver real value to businesses by helping them to understand and use their data to build resilience and plan for future success. « 

The agreement provides that the medium-sized company will receive the status of a Xero Global Partner – a new recognition for global partnerships of this kind.

The announcement comes after the medium-sized company RSM decided at the end of 2019 to relocate its tax and compliance work to the Xero platform.
